Summative assessment for the "Flowers for Algernon" unit was an argument essay on the ethics of genetic manipulation/editing/engineering. Here are the results of our poll. Amazing to see our students were split right down the middle on this topic.

We're well into our unit on Poe. Students are learning the elements of engaging narrative writing - style/voice, mood/tone, using dialogue, figurative language, and imagery.Students culminated the unit with tongue twister poems. Poems didn't have to be memorized, but did need to be rehearsed. Then we watched these three clips of the classic musical number "The Modern Major General" from "The Pirates of Penzance." Enjoy these fun clips that demonstrate feats of artistic and articulate achievement! |
